Organic Social Strategy
Created a organic social media strategy to enhance IT Support Specialists' online presence and engagement. This organic social strategy was aimed at leveraging all social media channels to increase brand awareness, drive website traffic, and support the SEO efforts.
Business Goal: To create a social media strategy to help have a consistent social media presence to have a stronger and larger audience.
Project Overview
During my time as a digital marketing intern at IT Support Specialists during Summer of 2023, I had the chance to create a organic social media strategy. The main goal of this project wasTo create a social media strategy to help have a consistent social media presence to have a stronger and larger audience.
To create an optimized organic social media strategy, I worked with the IT Support Specialists team to understand their specific goals and target audience for social media platforms, which would allow me to develop a customized approach that best works with their marketing and branding objectives.
My Responsibilities
Review Social Strategy
Developing an optimized organic social media strategy involved an analysis of IT Support Specialists' existing presence across their different platforms. I reviewed the content types, posting frequency, and scheduling consistency. I reviewed their blog page, which the team was hoping to start using once again, and created new ideas to repurpose the content from those blogs into new social media content to drive traffic to the newest blog post.
To help with this process, I used the company's HubSpot account, which allowed me to plan and schedule content in advance for effortless posting across all social applications. Also, I reviewed some of the analytics to create what would be the companies target audience for each social platform, which help make sure the content is generated for them.
Find Areas Of Improvement
After reviewing the existing organic social media strategy, I explored additional avenues of their social media to identify areas for improvement. I reviewed the posting schedule to determine if more consistency needed to be in place. I analyzed the content that was being shared, analyzing whether it provided a meaningful value to followers or if it was aimed to maintain an active presence on the different social platforms.
By leveraging HubSpot's analytics and creating a comparative analysis against competitors' social media approaches, I was able to find specific areas that required optimization. This assessment allowed me to create customized recommendations to enhance IT Support Specialists' organic social media efforts, allowing for a meaningful and consistent media presence across all platforms.
Present Recommendations
After reviewing the existing social media strategy and identifying the areas for improvement, the final step was presenting the findings and recommendations to the team. The IT Support Specialists team was open-minded to the new ideas and recommendations, as they wanted to implement the best strategy to effectively showcase their services to new and current clients while portraying their brand identity. They wanted the new insights and recognized the value in optimizing their social media presence to align with their business objectives in order for it to be successful.

HubSpot
Used HubSpot to plan and schedule content in advance for posting across all social platforms. Reviewed the analytics HubSpot offers to create a target audience and recommendations for ITSS.

Basecamp
For this project, I utilized Basecamp as a centralized hub to store files, analytics, and have seamless communication among the other team members.

Google Sheets
For this project I used Google Sheets to create a content planning system. The content, the copy and the hashtags were all put on this google sheet and when a piece of content was created it would then get approved by the manager. After being approved the content would then be moved over into HubSpot where everything gets scheduled to be posted.

Leveraging Google Slides, I created a visual presentation to easily communicate the optimizer organic social strategy that was going to be implemented.
My Results
With the ability for IT Support Specialists to leverage different social media channels, we can significantly increase brand awareness and have the potential to reach a wider audience. Through consistent and engaging content, IT Support Specialists can establish themselves as a credible voice for the IT industry. This will help lead to the brand being able to be trusted and help create loyalty amongst existing and new customers.
A truly effective social media strategy will be able to drive more traffic to the website through the social posts that are being created. This can be done by sharing and creating valuable and usable content whether it's promoting products or useful blogs that will then hopefully lead the customers back to the website to want to learn more. The impact of creating this valuable content will hopefully go hand in hand with some of the SEO strategies that we were also implementing to help the website become more visible.
A well-thought-out social media strategy can create numerous opportunities for a company. It can facilitate building a community with the specific target audience, as well as fostering engagement by actively responding to comments and addressing followers' concerns. If IT Support Specialists consistently implements this social strategy, they are likely to see improvements in their business across multiple aspects.
